I fight fire with fire on a daily basis, I can't take this 'Cause i've been losing myself for far too long I guess it was a matter of time It's the calm before the storm The sky is grey And the rain is The rain is falling all around you But the fire The fire's still burning Trying and trying to breathe Theres something under me I can't take this anymore 'Cause I've been losing my grip For far too long I guess it was a matter of time It's the calm before the storm The sky is grey And the rain is The rain is falling all around you But the fire The fires still burning You're suffocating Trying and trying to breathe Trying and trying to breathe You can't stop me Theres something under me Theres something under me And the rain is The rain is falling all around you But the fire The fire's still burning

Welcome to your life There's no turning back Even while you sleep They will find you Acting on your best behavior Turn your back on Mother Nature Everybody wants to rule the world It's my own design It's my own remorse Help me to decide Help me make the most of Freedom and of pleasure Nothing ever lasts forever Everybody wants to rule the world There's a room where the light won't find you Holding hands while the walls come crumbling down When they do I'll be right beside you So glad we almost made it So sad we had to fake it Everybody wants to rule the world I can't stand this indecision Married to a lack of vision Everybody wants to rule the world Say that you'll never never never leave it One headline why believe it? Everybody wants to rule the world

My mouth has run bone dry I'm fresh out of ink My words have become hollow Look at the sights that you've created We're all just suffocated I'm not alone It's true that seeing is believing To witness is to know We all know looks can be deceiving There's just know way to know When your eyes are closed Your actions speak much louder than your words Tell me what I want to hear Resonating through your very core Are we crystal clear? I think we are It's true that seeing is believing To witness is to know We all know looks can be deceiving Theres just know way to know When your eyes are closed My words will rest Down through my chest Until I find the air to say it Say it, Say it Give me something to believe Say it, Say it You know the truth will set you free Say it now I wil still believe I'm alive It's true that seeing is believing To witness is to know We all know looks can be deceiving There's just know way to know When your eyes are closed

Some say life passes you by You were life and I was blind So here's the last letter I write I hope you read it this time "Hello, Hello," she said "Hello, Hello," she's dead "Hello, Hello," she said I... When you wait until tomorrow She'll say tomorrow's gone Don't wait too long And when the day comes You'll be sorry That you had to wait For one more day Now here I'm lost in this place Thoughts of you without a trace "Hello, Hello," she said "Hello, Hello," she's dead "Hello, Hello," she said I... When you wait until tomorrow She'll say tomorrow's gone Don't wait too long And when the day comes You'll be sorry That you had to wait For one more day "Hello, Hello," she said "Hello, Hello," she's dead

New Life 02:45
Sometimes You just gotta start a new life At least one time You gotta change everything And it always stings But you know it's what you need I've felt the need to count my blessings And find myself in a new setting Thicken my skin once and again And throw myself in the deep end It's been a long time Since I've been the new guy No lie But what I've learned Is that sometimes it's just your turn It's your turn I switch it up Once in a while to see how it feels Just so I know that it's real Just so I'm not standing still Just so I don't question my decisions Spend all my time wondering what I could be missing Or if my time could be better spent In a better what, where, or when I don't stick around for too long I keep moving on and on It's been a long time Since I've been the new guy No lie But what I've learned Is that sometimes it's just your turn It's your turn And at least I'm not moving backwards I see the progress that I'm always chasing after It's a new day It's a clean slate I had to move to gain It's ok 'cause it's the only way. And it's not a cheap shot at my friends I can't say I'm braver than any of them 'Cause I've had this wind at my back and I see That it's made this journey so easy on me It's true It's been a long time Since I've been the new guy No lie But what I've learned Is that sometimes it's just your turn It's your turn And at least I'm not moving backwards I see the progress that I'm always chasing after It's a new day It's a clean slate I had to move to gain It's ok 'cause it's the only way

"Time Will Tell" Official Lyric Video youtu.be/YEcuPpdfESY

Band Biography:

Tempe, Arizona's dynamic alternative rock band Yesterdays Promise are living proof of the Phoenix Mythology; rising from the ashes, renewed and restored after the tragedy and tribulations with the passing of their original lead singer, Robert Combs.

Yesterdays Promise originated in 2002 with two 8th grade best friends, Robert Combs and Steven Douglas Young. By Senior year, the group was recording their debut album, Place Me Down, at Hollywood's Cherokee Studios (Michael Jackson, members of The Beatles, Motley Crue). Place Me Down was recorded and engineered by multi-platinum record producers "The Rob Bros". The album was produced by Jay Kereny and mixed by legendary producer Toby Wright (Alice In Chains, Korn and Metallica). The future was bright for Yesterdays Promise until Robert Combs tragically passed away before the release of Place Me Down.

For the remaining members of Yesterdays Promise, it was the hardest way to say good-bye as they watched their dreams subside. They have attempted different renditions throughout the years to honor their friend and keep the songs they wrote alive. It wasn't until original member, Steven Douglas Young, switched from drums to lead vocals/guitar that they were ready to have their sophomore release in August 2014. Now, with the addition of long time best friends Jeremy Salo (drums), Kyle Friend (guitar and backing vocals), Wes "Wild Horse" Richards (lead guitar), and Austin Terrill (bass), the current line-up has been completed.

Currently, Yesterdays Promise is active as a full time band, playing shows, and are in the studio recording with producer/engineer Adam Teller (Asking Alexandria, Animate Escape) for a new full length album to be released in the Fall of 2014.
